Siimpel Scores Investment From Korean Firm

Arcadia-based Siimpel Corporation, which is developing MEMs-based components for mobile cameras, announced Monday afternoon that the firm has raised an additional round of investment from LG Innotek. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Siimpel develops MEMs modules which are used to design higher quality, mobile phone cameras. LG Innotek is a Korean developer of camera components, modules, and related products. Siimpel was formerly known as SiWave, and is backed by DOCOMO Capital Inc., Qualcomm, Motorola, Micron Technology, along with investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Portage Venture Partners, Zone Ventures, Scales Venture Partners, and SunAmerica. The firm has raised more than $61M in venture funding since 2003, and last raised a funding round in November of 2008 lead by DOCOMO. More information »
