Napster Lowers Pricing

Los Angeles-based Napster, the online music subscription service now owned by Best Buy, has just lowered the pricing of its service to $5 a month, including five, DRM-free music downloads. The drop in pricing is the first major change to the service since Best Buy purchased the firm in September of last year, for $121M. Napster previously charged $12.95 a month for access to the music streaming service. Napster is facing stiff competition from free music streaming sites such as Pandora, Slacker, Last.fm, and others.
