Broadcom Gets HDTV Win At LG

Irvine-based Broadcom announced Monday that the firm has been selected in a design win from LG Electronics. According to the firm, a digital TV chip from the firm--the BCM3549 digital TV SOC--has been selected as part of a line of HDTVs with integrated online access. The LG HDTVs include connectivity to Neflix and Yahoo directly on their TV, and is being distributed through Best Buy and other retailers. Broadcom didn't say what the shipment levels or financial impact of the design win would be.
