RoyaltyShare Expands Service To The UK

San Diego-based RoyaltyShare, a developer of software-as-a-service for tracking online music royalties, said today that the firm has expanded its service to handle tracking of royalties in the UK. RoyaltyShare said that it now supports mechanical royalties managed by the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS), used by UK record labels. The MCPS is the primary royalty collection society in the UK, similar to ASCAP in the U.S. RoyaltyShare said that the support comes in its Digital Advantage service, which aggregates and monitors record label sales, and calculates royalties owed to artists, songwriters, and music publishers. RoyaltyShare is backed by Trident Capital, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), and the William Morris Agency.
