Sendio Targets Small Business

Newport Beach-based Sendio, a provider of email and spam protection appliances, has rolled out a new system focused on small businesses, the firm said Monday afternoon. The firm--which is backed by Athenian Venture Partners, Vicente Capital Partners, Shepherd Ventures and Momentum Venture Management--said its new hardware/software bundles are designed for companies with 5 to 150 email accounts. Sendio develops email security tools which reduce spam by requiring sender verification of messages before delivery. Sendio said that the new product came as a result of customer demand for the system for very small businesses. Sendio's products were originally targeted at very large enterprises and institutions. The company said the new system starts at $1,595 for a 25-user solution.
