Nirvanix Ties With CommVault

San Diego-based cloud storage firm Nirvanix is further bolstering its focus on enterprise customers, saying today that it has partnered with enterprise storage software provider CommVault. According to the firms, CommVault has connected its Simpana backup and recovery and archiving software to Nirvanix, allowing CommVault's users to use the Nirvanix online storage service for backup and offsite storage. Nirvanix said CommVault customers can select the firm's Storage Delivery Network (SDN) product via a drop-down selection within the Simpana software. Nirvanix provides storage-as-a-service through an online network. The CommVault link is the latest in a push into the enterprise market, including the hiring of a number of enterprise and IT focused sales staff last year, links with other backup provider, and network attached storage (NAS) software connected to its service. Nirvanix is backed by Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures, and the European Founders Fund.
