Emergent Game Technologies Sees Growth, Profits

Calabasas-based Emergent Game Technologies, developer of the computer game development software Gamebryo LightSpeed, reported today that it had a 35 percent increase in revenues year-over-year, and a 58 percent increase in its profitability during 2009. The privately held, venture backed firm did not disclose actual financial behind the numbers, but claimed that it was seeing "rapid adoption" of its products worldwide. The firm also said it benefited from a reduction in expenses during Q4, and growth in North America, Japan, and China. Emergent's software is used to develop game titles on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC platforms.
