Verve Wireless Ties With Audit Firm

Encinitas-based Verve Wireless, a developer of mobile local news publishing software, has tied with the Audit Bureau of Circulations' interactive unit, ABCi, the firm said this week. According to ABCi and Verve, ABCi will provide newspaper publishers and advertisers with independently verified mobile usage data for Verve clients. Business details of the deal were not disclosed. ABCi said it will provide information such as device breakdowns, time-of-day, unique visitors, pageviews, and other details to Verve Wireless clients. Verve develops mobile software for the Associated Press, local newspapers and radio stations, and other publishers, which allows those publishers to easily support mobile access to their content. Verve said it served up more than 160 million mobile news pages in March. Verve Wireless is venture backed by the Associated Press, Crosscut Ventures, and angel investors, and others, and headed by Art Howe, the former publisher of the Village Voice.
