Cogent Sees HP Design Win

Pasadena-based Cogent, a developer of biometric identification systems and fingerprint readers, announced last night that its Facial BioTrust software has been integrated into a line of HP business notebooks. Cogent said its software, which allows users to log onto their computer using facial recognition, has been integrated into HP's Business Notebook Mini 5102 series. Details behind the business deal were not disclosed. COgent said its software is being used in conjunction with the notebook's built-in webcam to allow users to log onto both the computer and a variety of Internet services. Cogent said it will soon be launching a version of BioTrust which will work with any computer running Windows XP, Vista, or Win 7.
