Overland Sues Firms Over Patents

San Diego-based tape backup and archive storage maker Overland Storage said Friday morning that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against three firms. According to Overland, it has filed suit against BDT AG and BDT-Solutions GmbH, both based in Germany, and BDT Products, Inc., based in Irvine. The firm said the suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. The patents in question are US Patents 6,328,766 and 6,353,581. Overland said it is seeking to stop BDT and its related companies from using technologies that use its patent in the future. DLA Piper LLP is representing Overland in the lawsuit.
