Newport Adds Khaykin To Board

Irvine-based Newport Corporation, a supplier of optical components, lasers, filters, scientific instruments, and other products, said Thursday that it has added Oleg Khaykin to its board of directors. Khaykin is President and CEO of International Rectifier. Khaykin also has served at Amkor Technology, Conexant Systems, and the Boston Consulting Group. Newport said that Khaykin will add a background in strategy development and international operations to the firm's board, as it looks to grow internationally.
