Goldstar Launches Nationwide Expansion

Los Angeles-based Goldstar, the online marketer of ticket offers and deals, announced today that it is in a major, nationwide expansion. The firm, which is headed by Jim McCarthy, said that it will be in all of the top 25 US markets in 2011, starting with the addition of Atlanta, Sacramento, and Portland Oregon starting in Q4 of this year. The firm's deals are only available to members--who sign up for free--and are used by ticket marketers to fill out venues. The firm--which has been self-funded--was started in Los Angeles, and now offers up its services in San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, Boston, Seattle, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C. Goldstar says it now has more than 1.2 million members using its services. McCarthy and his co-founders have previously served at Warner Bros., Yahoo!, GeoCities, and eToys.
