UberMedia Updates UberSocial for iPhone

Pasadena-based UberMedia, the Idealab startup which is developing applications for reading and posting to Twitter, announced today that it has released a new version of UberSocial for the iPhone. The firm said that its new version, UberSocial 1.5, now provides a live preview features for tweets, new curated channels focused on news, entertainment, business, and sports; and more. UberSocial was previously known as UberTwitter, until a major spat with Twitter over the features and naming of the software occurred in February, which resulted in total cutoff of access to Twitter by UberTwitter and other UberMedia clients. Since then, the firms have resolved their issues--however, Twitter said a couple of weeks ago that it is actively discouraging third party Twitter clients like UberMedia's.
