THQ Expects Big Holiday Quarter

Agoura Hills-based videogame maker THQ said Thursday that it expects to see the "biggest quarter in company history" due to holiday sales this season, as it reported nearly doubling its net sales in the three months ended September 30th. The company said it had net sales of $146.0 million, compared with $77.1M in the prior year period. The sales were well above analyst estimates of $99.0M in the quarter. THQ also predicted a huge Q3 for the company, due to the release of Saints Row: The Third, the uDraw GameTablet, and WWE '12. The last quarter's sales were helping in part by shipments of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
