WD Names Two To Board

Irvine-based Western Digital, the maker of disk drives, said this morning that it has appointed two new members to its board of directors. WD said it has added Kensuke Oka and Masahiro Yamamura to the board, both of whom are being added as part of WD's acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. Oka is President and CEO of Hitachi America, Ltd., and Yamamura is General Manager of the Semiconductor Business Division of Hitachi Ltd. WD announced its deal to buy Hitachi Global Storage in March of 2011, in a deal worth $4.3 billion, and the deal finally closed in March of this year.
