Los Angeles-based hosting provider Dreamhost, which is headed by Simon Anderson, has expanded its footprint today, saying that it has opened up its first, East Coast data center. DreamHost is setting up shop in Northern Virginia, as a tenant of RagingWire Data Centers. DreamHost--which provides everything from shared and dedicated server hosting to cloud storage and computing services--said the move will help it improve network performance, particularly for its East Coast and European customers. The data center is its first on the East Coast, and comes in additoin to the company's existing, Los Angeles data center. Financial details of the deal between RagingWire and DreamHost were ont disclosed.
