CapLinked Raises New Funding

CapLinked, the Los Angeles, cloud-based financial software firm founded by Eric M. Jackson and Christopher Grey, announced this morning that it has scored a new, Series A funding round, worth $1.6M. The firm said the funding brings its total raised to $2.5M. The new funding included FF Angel, Siemer Ventures, 500 Startups, Peter Thiel, Andrej Henkler, and Alexsis de Raadt-St. James. CapLinked operates an online platform which lets users manage capital raises, commercial real estate deals, business development transactions, and more, operating as a "virtual data room".

CapLinked said it will use the new funding to displace the legacy Virtual Data Room (VDR) industry; CapLinked CEO Jackson explained, "Our current focus is on expansion into the enterprise sector, which includes financial institutions, real estate funds, and advisors such as lawyers and investment banks." The company, which had initially targeted early stage companies and the process of capital raising, has expanded its market, saying that it's now seeing a lot of larger enterprises using the platform for transactions.

Along with the funding, CapLinked said it has added Adom Sroka as the company's Senior Vice President of Technology. Sroka has previously served at such companies as Industrial Logic (serving clients such as HP, Yahoo, and Schlumberger) and BigVisible.
