SweetLabs Debuts New Game Network

Are you a game developer looking to get better distribution of your games? San Diego-based SweetLabs, the developer behind the desktop app marketplace software Pokki, is circling back towards its roots promoting and helping developers gain distribution for their software, with the launch of a new game network. The firm said its new Pokki Game Network is aimed at game developers, and helps them acquire users by converting their web and social games into desktop versions, and promoting these apps through leading PC software channels and app stores.

The new Game Network is highly reminiscent of OpenCandy, SweetLabs' original incarnation, which was very focused on helping app developers gain distribution for their desktop applications. In this case, SweetLabs is now applying that experience into helping bring traditional, browser-based games to the desktop for play on their PCs. The firm said the new network reaches over 500 million monthly users. SweetLabs is venture backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Google Ventures, Intel Capital, and O'Reilly AlphaTech.
