MaxLinear Gets Design Win At Technicolor

Carlsbad-based RF semiconductor developer MaxLinear says today that it has scored a design win with Technicolor. MaxLinear, which develops integrated radio frequency (RF) and mixed-signal ICs used in the communications market, said that one of its cihps has been used for a high definition, set-top box for the Latin American market. shipment volumes and financial impact of the win was not disclosed. MaxLinear said its chips are being used in a direct-to-home satellite service in Latin America, with additional support for free, HD broadcast stations in Latin America.
