EDF Renewable Energy Buys Another Wind Project

San Diego-based EDF Renewable Energy, the renewable energy projects developer, said today that it is in another deal to buy a wind project. The company said it will acquire the first phase of an up to 500 megawatt project in Texas, the Hereford Wind Project. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. EDF Renewable Energy said that the project includes approximately 15,000 acres in Deaf Smith County southeast of the town of Hereford, which is being used to supply power in the Texas Panhandle. EDF Renewable Energy has a number of wind power projects, including a different wind project in Texas being financed by Google.
