ReVision Optics Gets $55M For Vision Treatments

Lake Forest-based Revision Optics announced this morning that it has raised $55M in a new equity funding, for the company's implantable corneal inlay treatment for presbyopia. The company said the funding included Canaan Partners, ProQuest Investments, InterWest Partners and Domain Associates, as well as new investors Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC) and RusnanoMedInvest (RMI). The company said the new funding will provide its with the resources to carry it through the FDA PMA process for its product, and also to help it expand its commercial footprint outside the U.S. Revision optics is developing a medical device which is designed to reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses.
