DoubleBeam Powers Rental Payment Service

Los Angeles-based DoubleBeam, a provider of payment technology, including mobile check- and credit card capture technologies, has signed up a new customer in the rental payments area. DoubleBeam said it has signed up YapStone, a provider of electronic payment solutions to the property management and nonprofit area, to power a mobile application called RentPayment. DoubleBeam said its technology will let renters pay their rent using a check or credit or debit card. YapStone's service lets users make electronic payments via the web, text message, phone, or via app. Financial impact of the win was not announced. DoubleBeam's mobile payments service enables capture of checks and cards via an iPhone or Android device. The company's solution also helps reduce transaction fees for its customers, as it transfers funds outside of the expensive, credit card payment networks. DoubleBeam is led by Ted Tekippe.
