Broadcom Gets Design Win In India

Irvine-based chipmaker Broadcom reported a design win in India this morning, saying that its quad-core HSPA+ platform wil be used by Indian mobile device provider Lava International Limited. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Broadcom said that Lava will use its quad-core HSPA+ turnkey platform for a new tablet, which incorporates Broadcom's 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, RF transceiver, power management IC, connectivity combo chip and multi-constellation GNSS location chip. Broadcom's chipsets are widely used to implement both phone and tablet hardware designs.
