Western Digital Buys Skyera

Irvine-based Western Digital said this morning that it has acquired San Jose-based Skyera, which develops solid state storage systems for the cloud and enterprise markets. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Skyera is becoming part of WD subsidiary HGST. Skyera was already backed by Western Digital, and also had received funding from Dell Ventures.
