The Honest Co.'s Brian Lee Backs Outdoor Gear, Apparel Startup Cotopaxi

Los Angeles-based angel investor Brian S. Lee, who has been behind such companies as LegalZoom, H. Bloom, and The Honest Company, is one of the angel investors in a new outdoor gear and apparel startup, Cotopaxi. Cotopaxi said today that it has raised $6.5M in a Series A funding, which was led by Greycroft Partners, and also included NEA, ForeRunner Ventures, Lere Hippeau Ventures, plus angels which included Lee, along with Josh James (Demo), Jeff Kearl (Stance), Neil Blumenthal (Warby Parker), Dave Gilboa (Warby Parker), and Andy Dunn (Bonobos). Brian Lee has been an investor in such companies as DogVacay, RadPad, ShoeDazzle, and others. Cotopaxi makes jackets, water bottles, backpacks, and other products which donate part of their proceeds to specific social causes. More information »
