Silversheet Gets $2.9M To Streamline Doctor Credentialing

Los Angeles-based Silversheet, led by serial entrepreneur Miles Beckett, said Wednesday that it has raised $2.9M in a funding round, to go towards its service for credentialing doctors at local hospitals. The startup said the funding came from Upfront Ventures, along ith Rincon Venture Partners, SV Angel, Slow Ventures, BAM Ventures, and Cyan and Scott Banister. Silversheet is looking to streamline the long and laborious process of getting physicians credentialed for local hospital privileges.

Beckett, who is a physician, was previously founder and CEO of digital media and content production company EQAL. Beckett was the creator of the Internet YouTube phenomenon "lonelygirl15". The new startup--which is a surprising shift in industries for Beckett--came out of his own experience going through the credentialing process as a doctor, before he took a detour into Hollywod, which he said came out of a then-"obsession with making videos for the Internet".
