American Airlines Seeks To Switch To ViaSat For High Speed Internet

American Airlines is looking to switch its in-flight, wireless Internet services to Carlsbad-based satellite operator ViaSat, according to a lawsuit filed in Texas. American Airlines sued its current wireless Internet service provider, Gogo, seeking to terminate its agreement with that company, saying that ViaSat offers an in-flight connectivity system which "materially improves" on Gogo's service. ViaSat recently deployed a number of high speed, Internet access satellites, which offer superior performance to Gogo's older, land-based access system.
