J.J. Abrams To Produce Documentary On Google Lunar XPRIZE

Culver City-based XPRIZE has a signed up J.J. Abrams, the producer of Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens, to document the efforts behind the Google Lunar XPRIZE. Google said last week that Moon Shot, the new documentary of the teams behind the XPRIZE, will be created by director Orlando von Einsiedel, Executive Producer J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot, and Epic Digital. The series will be broadcast through Youtube. Google is awarding $30 million to teams who develop technology to design and build a lunar rover, land it on the surface of the moon, and drive it 500 meters across the landscape.
