Masimo Receives Clearance On New Regional Oximiter

Irvine-based Masimo reports this morning that it has received FDA 510(k) clearance on a new device, its O3 regional oximetry device.The company said the device helps clinicians monitor cerebral oxygenation in situations in which pulse oximetry alone may not be fully indicative of the oxygen in the brain due to various factors, such as the type of clinical procedure being performed. The new device uses near-infrared specscopy (NIRS) for measuring oxygen saturation in the brain.
