ViaSat, Boeing Make Progress On Satellite Launch Effort

Carlsbad-based ViaSat and Boeing said this morning that the two have completed a preliminary design review for the first of two new satellites, which it expects to launch in 2019. According to the two, the design review is the "first critical milestone" in launching the ViaSat-3 satellites, which will offer up Ka-band, high speed wireless services to the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The satellite work by Boeing Defense, Space & Security is being done in El Segundo.
