Rambus Buys Assets From Verimatrix

San Diego-based Verimatrix has sold the assets of its Silicon IP and Secure Protocol business to Rambus, Rambus said late Wednesday, in a deal worth $65M in cash. According to Rambus, it will use the acquisition to help it create "the industry's most comprehensive portfolio of silicon-proven security IP and chip provisioning solutions." Verimatrix, formerly known as Inside Secure, had announced the deal earlier this month. According to Rambus, it expects the acquisition to close this year.
