Gemstar-TV Guide In Deal With Verizon

Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International announced today that it is in a patent license agreement with Verizon, covering program guides for Verizon's FiOS TV Service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gemstar said that the agreement covers patent rights for interactive program guides and related technology. The deal also covers collaboration on scheduling features on FioS DVRs. Verizon's FiOS TV service is Verizon's television service, which is being delivered over the telecommunication's firms new fiber optic network.
