Gemstar Expands License With Sony
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide said this morning that it has expanded its interactive programming guide license agreemen with Sony to the European Market. Gemstar said that the multi year agreement gives Sony the right to use Gemstar-TV Guide's intellectual products in interactive program guides for the European market. Gemstar holds patents for on screen programming guide technology, and also licenses its own interactive programming guide to Hitachi, Philips, Pionner, JVC, and many other set top box and television manufacturers worldwide.
