Generate Rounds Up $6M for Entertainment Studio

Los Angeles-based Generate said late Tuesday evening that it has raised $6M in a Series A venture funding round. The firm, which bills itself as a "next-generation" production and management studio for professional entertainment, said the funding came from Velocity Interactive Group and MK Capital. Generate said it will generate professional, quality content for broadband, television, film, publishing and other media. Jordan Levin, former CEO of the WB Network, will become CEO of Generate as part of the funding. Velocity Interactive is the venture capital firm headed by Ross Levinsohn and Jonathan Miller. Generate said that its initial slate of titles includes "Pink - The Series" a live action graphic novel, and LaQuisha, a comedy which has been featured on the KROQ Kevin and Bean show, and Knockers, another comedy, from sketech comedy group Good Neighbor.
