Geno Names Chief Legal Officer

San Diego-based Geno (Genomatica) says it has hired its first Chief Legal Officer, to help the company with its growth. According to the company, it has appointed Shawnte Mitchell to the new position. Mitchell was previously Executive Vice Presdient, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Zogenix, and also had served at Aptevo Therapeutics. Geno says it is developing and scaling sustainable materials derived from plant- or waste-based feedstocks instead of fossil fuels.
