Genomatica Adds Investor

San Diego-based Genomatica, a biotechnology company developing metabolic biomanufacturing processes for chemical and biological products, has quietly received venture capital from Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The funding has not been announced, however DFJ recently added Genomatica to the firm's web site as a portfolio firm. Genomatica is developing "biological factories" which use living cells to manufacture a variety of chemical and biological products. Calls to Genomatica for more information on the funding were not returned as of press time. Genomatica has previously received venture capital from Iceland Genomic Ventures. More information »
