Gigajot Rolls Out Scientific Image Sensors

Pasadena-based Gigajot said today that it has rolled out its very first product, a CMOS-based sensor which it says allows for detection of individual photons of light. The company said it is aiming its products at the scientific, medical, defense, industrial, and space markets. Gigajot says those sensors can count individual light photons at room temperature, and even enable imaging at ultra-low light levels, which is particularly useful in astrophysics and quantum information science (QIS).
