Aliso Viejo-based Global Care Quest, a maker of systems for delivering digital medical information, has been acquired by medical device firm Karl Storz Endoscopy-America. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Karl Storz, the acquisition actually occurred on October 7, and made Global Care Quest a new business unit of the firm. Global Care Quest develops software that pulls together vital patient information into a "dashboard," which can be accessed via the Web or through a handheld device. The product is used by surgeons and others to monitor their patients. Global Care Quest was venture backed by Lexington Ventures.
