Schantz is a software architect at QAD. The students' dashboard was voted the best eco-friendly dashboard, which provides feedback to encourage fuel-efficient driving. The X Prize foundation said that two other student teams were semi-finalists, one from the the Henry Ford Academy in Dearborn, MI and the other from The Harker School in San Jose, CA. All three teams are sharing $10,000 in prize money for their efforts.
