Gumiyo Raises Funding, Adds Pikover To Board

Woodland Hills-based Gumiyo has raised a second round of funding, the company is set to announce tomorrow. Financial terms of the funding were not disclosed, however Rich Abronson, one of Gumiyo's co-founders, said that Yuri Pikover has joined the company's board as part of the funding. Pikover was a co-founder of Calabasas-based Xylan, and also was CEO of Access 360. Pikover helped sell Xylan to Alcatel for $2B in 1999, and sold Access 360 to IBM in 2002. Gumiyo operates an online service which connects buyers and sellers via mobile phone. Abronson said the firm will use the funding to expand the company's reach to real estate professionals, auto dealers, and other businesses. More information »
