HELIO Adds Digg, Wikipedia To Services
Los Angeles-based HELIO, an MVNO developing a cell phone service targeted at the youth market, said today that it has rolled out a new mobile device that combines content from web sites like Digg, Wikipedia, Boing Boing, and Metroblogging to its services. The firm's new "the Heat" device is produced by Samsung for Helio, and includes an electrostatic touchpad, GPS, MP3 support, and video. In conjunction with the new device, HELIO said that it is offering mobile optimized versions of Boing Boing, Digg, Metroblogging, and Wikipedia to its users via its WAP deck. Access to the popular web sites will be free to Helio members.
