Helio Announces Handsets, 3G Service Partnership With MySpace

Los Angeles-based Helio, the joint venture between SK Telecom and Earthlink, has announced two new custom handsets associated with its service. The company said that its two new multimedia handsets, the Hero and Kickflip, will provide high speed 3G to U.S. consumers. The new handsets will be tied into MySpace, and feature high resolution LCD displays, duplex stereo speakers, and built in cell phone cameras. Helio said that the phones are being launched in conjunction with MySpace, with a service called MySpace Mobile On Helio. The new service will connect Helio customers to MySpace on the mobile devices, including retrieving MySpace mail, posting messages, adding blog entries, viewing photos, and updating profiles.
