HowFamous Gets Angel Funding
HowFamous.com, a Huntington Beach-based online site that operates an web-based talent contest community, said today it has closed its first angel round of funding. The funding came from a group of Orange County investors. According to HowFamous, the funding will be used for marketing, operations and business development. The firm provides an online site where contestants can compete in music, modeling, writing and video categories. The site includes advertisers and sponsors like House of Blues and LG Electronics, and was launched in 2003.
