Icanbuy Powers New Homes Site

Santa Ana-based icanbuy, a developer of real estate related software, is powering a new model home site from the Building Industry Association of Southern California. According to the BIA, it is launching a new Web 2.0 consumer site, ModelHomeTour.com, to provide would-be new home buyers with information about home listings, floor plans, community information, and more. The new site is powered by icanbuy, which develops online tools for helping home owners find financing, shop for home loans, and receive a pre-qualification letter from lenders. Financial terms and impact of the deal was not disclosed. The new site will offer more than 25,000 new home listings in California, with an additional information in 40 other states. icanbuy said it also has a partnership in place with 125 newspapers to drive new home search on their web sites through ModelHomeTour. Startup icanbuy is the brainchild of Alex Aydin, who helped take Prostor IPO in the 90's, and who sold the firm to Sun Microsystems.
