Illumina Sued By Affymetrix, Again

San Diego-based Illumina, a developer of life sciences research tools, has been named a defendant in patent suits filed by Affymetrix in Delaware, The United Kingdom, and Germany. Illumina and Affymetrix have been in a patent battle since 2004. Illumina said in a statement that it believes the claims to be unfounded, and that it believes that it does not infringe any valid claims of the patents named by Affymetrix. Both Affymetrix and Illumina develop tools used for gene sequencing.
