Illumina Sues Affymetrix

San Diego-based Illumina, a developer of life sciences and genetic analysis systems, disclosed Tuesday that it has filed a patent infringement suit against competitor Affymetrix. According to Illumina, the suit--filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin--seeks to enjoin Affymetrix from making and selling the firm's HT Array Plate and Scanner products. Illumina is also looking for unspecified monetary damages. The patent in question in the suite is U.S. patent number 7,510,841.
