Illumina Wins Patent Infringement Suit In The UK

San Diego-based lifesciences equipment maker Illumina said late Tuesday that it has won a patent infringemnt it filed against Premaitha Health plc and Ariosa Diagnostics. Illumina said the favorable judgement was issued in the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, Patents Court in the United Kingdom. Illumina said it is seeking damages, injunctive relief, and attorney fees in the infringement lawsuit, which covers the use of genetic sequencing in the area of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).
