ImThera Medical Snags $16M

San Diego-based ImThera Medical, a developer of medical devices to treat sleep apnea, has raised $16M in an initial funding round from publicly held Cyberonics, plus its other investors Cyberonics said Wednesday. ImThera is developing an implantable, neurostimulation device which can treat obstructive sleep apnea. The Series C funding round includes $12M from Cyberonics, with the remaining $4M from its existing investors. Cyberonics also gains a seat on ImThera's board. More information »
