    Intel, Linksys Team On Wireless


    Irvine-based Linksys (www.linksys.com) and Santa Clara-based Intel announced that the two companies will deliver new software technology for reducing the complexity of setup, securing, and operating wireless networks. The Intel Smart Wireless Solutions software is the result of a collaboration between Intel and Linksys, and will be delievered as part of Intel Centrino notebooks and selected Linksys wireless routers and access points. The new software includes a network configuration wizard, wireless troubleshooting, and security assistant. The companies said that the solution will initially be available for selected Linksys routers, with plans to expand support to the rest of the company's wireless router lineup.
