    Intelligent Beauty Gets Funding
    Manhattan Beach-based Intelligent Beauty, a marketing and technology firm which builds beauty brands, said this morning that it has received its first external round of funding. The funding came from Technology Crossover Ventures. Financial terms of the minority funding were not disclosed. Intelligent Beauty said it will use the capital to scale and expand its portfolio of brands, through strategic acquisitions and marketing. Ian Picache of TCV will join the firm's board as part of the funding. Intelligent Beauty uses the Internet and home shopping channels to create beauty product brands; the firm says it currently employs 55 in Manhattan Beach.
